Soybean Oil

To prepare soybean seeds for oil extraction, they must be cleaned, crushed, cooked, and flaked to make them ready for processing. Then, using hexane solvent in an extractor, the oil is separated from the seeds by the miscella method (a mixture of hexane and oil). The flakes are passed through an expander into the extractor, and the resulting miscella is then processed through a distillation system to produce soybean oil.
